The garment appears to be a dark colour, possibly black or coffee brown, and is described in similar listings as being made from a luxurious fabric such as a silk blend, raw silk, or poly velvet. It features extensive, detailed embroidery in a paisley (mango) motif covering the entire length of the sherwani. The fabric often has a base jacquard or print pattern beneath the embroidery. It has a traditional mandarin (stand) collar and a straight fit. The front features button closures, with visible gold-toned buttons. A small, decorative brooch or pin is attached to the upper left chest area.
